Terms of Service

Welcome

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Imposter Games by Med Studios, available at impostergames.io and in the Imposter Games Android app. Before joining online games or uploading content, including as a guest, you must accept these Terms and the conduct rules shown in the app. The Privacy Policy explains our data handling; optional Android analytics requires a separate choice.

Who Can Use Imposter Games

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or submit personal information. If you are old enough to use the service but not old enough to agree to these Terms on your own where you live, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Accounts are optional for many games, but some features, including saved stats and community content, may require an account.

Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep your email address up to date.
• You may not share, sell, transfer, or use another person's account without permission.
• You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, harm the service, or create legal or safety risk.

Acceptable Use

Use Imposter Games for play, creativity, and community. Do not use the service to:

• Harass, threaten, impersonate, bully, shame, or target other people.
• Submit hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, self-harm, or illegal content.
• Upload or share private personal information, passwords, addresses, phone numbers, or other doxxing material.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights.
• Spam, advertise, scam, phish, distribute malware, or manipulate votes, scores, lobbies, or leaderboards.
• Use bots, scraping, automation, exploits, cheats, reverse engineering, or attacks that disrupt the service or other players.
• Probe, bypass, or weaken security, rate limits, authentication, or moderation systems.

Gameplay Content

During games, you may submit nicknames, answers, drawings, votes, chat messages, and similar content. Other players in the lobby may see that content. Game hosts and players are responsible for the people they invite and the content they create.

Custom Camoflee seeker skins are submitted to a private moderation queue when the seeking phase starts, including skins painted by guest players. They are not added to the public selectable skin list unless a moderator approves them.

Most live lobby content is temporary, but we may keep limited records when needed for diagnostics, abuse prevention, moderation, legal compliance, or supported account-linked stats features.

Community Content

Some features may allow players to upload or publish custom maps, prompts, question packs, images, drawings, levels, descriptions, and other community content. You are responsible for everything you submit.

• You must own the content or have permission to use and share it.
• You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, misleading, unsafe for a general audience, or designed to break the service.
• You should not upload private information about yourself or anyone else.
• Published community content may be searchable, playable, copied into game sessions, reviewed by moderators, and shown with your display name.

By submitting community content, you keep your ownership rights, but you grant Imposter Games a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, perform, modify, adapt, distribute, and use that content to operate, improve, promote, and moderate the service. This license lasts as long as needed to provide the service, keep games playable, handle backups, and enforce these Terms.

We may remove, hide, edit, restrict, or refuse community content at any time, especially if it violates these Terms or creates legal, safety, technical, or moderation risk.

Moderation and Enforcement

We may use automated tools, human review, player reports, server logs, and account data to detect abuse and enforce these Terms. Enforcement actions may include warnings, content removal, lobby restrictions, account suspension, account deletion, IP or device blocking, and reporting serious issues to appropriate authorities.

If you believe a moderation decision was mistaken, contact us with the account email, content involved, and why you think the decision should be reviewed.

Copyright and IP Complaints

If you believe content on Imposter Games infringes your copyright or other rights, email [email protected] with enough information for us to locate the content, understand your rights, contact you, and evaluate the complaint.

Your notice should include your name, contact information, a description of the protected work, the URL or location of the content you believe is infringing, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate. We may remove content and terminate repeat infringers when appropriate.

Our Content and Brand

Imposter Games, including the games, code, design, artwork, branding, text, and other materials we provide, is owned by us or licensed to us. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial play. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, modify, or create competing services from our content unless we give written permission or the law allows it.

Stats, Scores, and Availability

Stats, achievements, scores, lobbies, daily challenges, and leaderboards are provided for fun. They may be inaccurate, reset, change, or become unavailable. We may change, pause, remove, or limit any feature at any time.

We try to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, preserved game data, or error-free gameplay.

Third-Party Services

Imposter Games may link to third-party websites or use third-party services to operate features such as authentication, email delivery, analytics, hosting, and maps. Third-party services are not controlled by us, and their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain information, including account data, cookies, analytics, and community content data.

Disclaimers

Imposter Games is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Imposter Games and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, service interruptions, account issues, community content, or conduct of other players.

Indemnity

If your use of Imposter Games, your account, or your content causes a claim, dispute, legal demand, loss, or expense, you agree to defend and hold Imposter Games and its operators harmless to the extent allowed by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as accounts, stats, moderation, and community content features evolve. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the latest version was posted. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
